1099 Vendor Spreadsheet Template
This page gives a downloadable CSV template with columns for payee, business or LLC type, TIN on file (W-9 yes or no), payment date, amount, method (check, ACH, card, or app), and service or goods.
Paste in totals per payee to flag who reaches $2,000. For payments made after Dec 31 2025, the 1099-NEC and most 1099-MISC threshold is $2,000.
Download the CSV template (opens in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers).
Worked example
You pay a vendor $700 in March by check and $1,500 in August by ACH. The total is $2,200, so the sheet flags the payee at $2,000. A second vendor is paid $2,500 by card; card payments are reported by the processor, not on your 1099-NEC, so that row is marked by method. A third vendor gets $1,900 and stays below the flag.
Common mistakes
Mixing card and app payments into the same total as check and ACH. Missing a W-9, which leaves the TIN column blank. Using the old $600 figure for payments made after Dec 31 2025.
Records to keep
Keep the filled sheet, W-9s, and payment confirmations. Note that 1099-NEC is filed with the IRS by January 31. Royalties use a $10 threshold.
